Mad Doc’s Midwest TourWords & pics Mad Doctor, Highways of America The Midwest Tour started off great, riding to the Colorado Rockies for an Invaders MC party located in a campsite perched at 9,200 feet. The Colorado chapter had a great set up for the many Brothers and nice chicks who rolled in for a 3 day event that rocked the very mountains themselves. Plus, if you got sick of nature, there were casinos, hotels, bars and restaurants just a few miles away. We had a poker run and I drew a king-high royal flush—don’t know how could anyone beat that, but it happened. The fat Texan from Jefferson City drew an ace-high royal flush and shut me out. Congrats to Spider, who won best bike on the run. Did I mention it gets cold in them hills? Thank God for all the hot women, like Cindy from Arizona and Nicole from Colorado (and her mom, Julie)! I got to do a lot of riding in the mountains, visiting places like Celebrity Tattoo in Lakewood—they put out a lot of good ink, plus they have a nice scooter sitting in the studio. After about a week, I decided to head to Texas to see Rugby Joe. No sooner did I get there when I got word that Brother Bubba had passed on. So I headed off to a Southern Indiana to escort him on his last ride. It was a large turn out for Bubba’s farewell. He would have loved it! A few days later, it was back on the highway, headed West on Interstate 70 to Columbia, Missouri where the 10th Annual Super Swap Meet & Bike Show was held. Panhead Willy and his very nice 21-year old daughter had come in from Wisconsin bringing 5 bikes, 3 for show and 2 to ride. That’s a biker for sure. Now, I hadn’t seen his daughter, Dani, since she was 5 years old, and it was good to see her all grown up, and I do mean grown up in a chesty way. She’s very well-built, just like their bikes, which won several trophies. Dani celebrated by getting a tattoo from Kickstand, who works at Mad Doctor Tattoo in Columbia. Finally turned my bike South again to head home—but not for long! There’s always another party or run to attend just around the bend, on the Highways of America. This year’s Mad Doctor's Super Swap Meet and Bike Show will be June 8, at the Midway Expo Center in Columbia, MO. For more info, call (573) 808-0398 or go email thunder5@frontiernet.net. |
